Jaipur: Rajasthan womenâs team has entered the quarter-finals by performing brilliantly in the 72nd Senior National Ball Badminton Championship in Srikalahasti, Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) on Sunday.According to Shaukat Ali Mansuri, general secretary of Rajasthan Ball Badminton Association, Rajasthan womenâs team has won all its matches played so far in the competition to seal a berth in the last eight.In the league stage, Rajasthan womenâs team defeated the teams from Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh and West Bengal by displaying excellent game and secured first position in its group.In the subsequent qualifying match, Rajasthan ousted Odisha to advance to the next round. Meanwhile, the pre-quarterfinal match saw a close contest between Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. In this thrilling three-set match, Rajasthan displayed a resilient fighting spirit, edging out Chhattisgarh 36-34, 28-35, 35-25 to secure their place in the quarterfinals.Now the quarter-final match of Rajasthan womenâs team will be with Karnataka.Rajasthan Ball Badminton Association president Dr Rajpal Sharma, general secretary Shaukat Ali Mansoori and treasurer Laxmikant Sharma expressed happiness over the teamâs performance and wished the players all the best for the upcoming match.
