Jaipur: Rajasthan girls team won the silver medal in the First Veteran National Shootingball Championship held recently at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.Dr OP Machra, vice-president of Shootingball Federation of India and general secretary of Rajasthan Shootingball Association, said that in this event, players of 50 plus age in menâs category and above 25 in womenâs section participated.The closing ceremony of the two-day National Veterans Shootingball Championship, organised at the HRIT University, Ghaziabad, concluded on Sunday.International Shootingball Federation president and Rajya Sabha member Dr Anil Agarwal was the chief guest.Asian general secretary Ravindra Singh Tomar, Asian executive member OP Machra, Shootingball Federation of India president Anjul Agarwal, general secretary Jeetraj Tomar, Jitendra Baghel, member Nana Kale, observer Barjesh Sharma, Induraj Sharma along with federation officials and old players from various states participated. The guests honoured the winning players with prizes, medals, trophies and certificates.The Rajasthan girls team won the silver medal after losing to Delhi in a close contest in the final by 21-15, 19-21, 21-12.Before this, Rajasthan girls team entered the final by defeating Uttar Pradesh team in straight sets 21-17, 21-19. Rajasthanâs international player Muskan Kathed, serving in Mumbai Customs, gave a brilliant performance with her superb shooting and Aartiâs underhand combination, which won a medal for Rajasthan.
