Rajasthan civic polls LIVE: Counting of votes for councillor posts in 309 urban local bodies across Rajasthan began on Monday amid tight security. A total of 10,245 councillors are set to be elected across the 309 urban local bodies, comprising 10 municipal corporations, 51 municipal councils and 248 municipalities. More than 1.44 crore voters were eligible to cast their ballots in the elections, news agency PTI reported.

Polling for 162 urban local bodies was held in the first phase on September 9, recording a voter turnout of 76.42 per cent. The remaining 147 urban local bodies went to the polls on September 11, with a voter turnout of 70.68 per cent.

Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: The BJP on Monday hailed the party's performance in the Rajasthan local body elections, saying it is heading towards a "spectacular victory" against the Congress' "jhooth ki goonj" and propaganda.

Talking to reporters here, BJP MP and national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi also highlighted the BJP's performance in Kota, where Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had conducted the party's student-centric programme, 'Chhatron Ki Goonj', saying the results showed that there was "more propaganda and less reality" in the Congress's claims.

The ruling BJP in Rajasthan increased its lead over the Congress in the urban local body elections on Monday, winning over 4,171 wards against the opposition party's 3,597 as results for at least 10,200 wards were declared.

The BJP secured a clear majority in the 80-member Udaipur Municipal Corporation by winning 53 wards, in the 70-member Bhilwara Municipal Corporation by securing 45 wards, and in the 100-member Kota Municipal Corporation by bagging 53 wards. The Congress emerged victorious in Bikaner and was leading in Ajmer and Pali, whereas the BJP edged past it in Jaipur and Alwar.

Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as the leading party in the Rajasthan urban local body elections, winning the Jaipur Municipal Corporation board with 78 seats, while independent candidates have emerged as key players in several other civic bodies where no party has secured a clear majority.

Out of the 150 wards in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation, results for 146 wards have been declared so far. The BJP has won 78 wards, while the Congress has secured 53 seats and independent candidates have won 15 wards.

The final picture in the four remaining wards will be clear after re-polling at five booths due to technical issues with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Jaipur District Collector Sandesh Nayak said the EVM results could not be retrieved from booths in Ward 9 (Booth No. 111), Ward 18 (Booth No. 235), Ward 25 (Booth No. 343), and Ward 34 (Booth Nos. 477 and 484).

He said the results of these booths have been kept on hold after engineers failed to retrieve the data, and the matter has been referred to the State Election Commission. The re-polling may be conducted on September 16 after approval from the commission.

Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Monday accused the ruling BJP of misusing government machinery and police to influence the outcome of the urban local body elections, with vote counting underway across the state.

Dotasra claimed the Congress was leading in most areas and accused the BJP of attempting to sway the results after anticipating defeat.

"Reports are coming in from different parts of the state indicating that under pressure, there are attempts to alter results in closely contested seats and to intimidate Independent and Congress councillors to switch allegiance to the BJP," he stated.

The Congress leader further alleged that the misuse of police resources to facilitate the formation of BJP boards in urban local bodies poses a serious threat to democracy.

"All such attempts must stop immediately. The police and district administration should ensure impartiality. Otherwise, accountability will be fixed for every officer who plays with the people's mandate," Dotasra said.

He also urged Congress workers to remain vigilant and closely monitor developments related to the election results. "We will not allow democracy to bow before the pressure of those in power," he said.

There was no immediate response from the BJP or the state government regarding these allegations.

The results for 18 municipal bodies were released early as the numbers were low. The counting for municipal corporations is almost complete, with only one ward remaining... The BJP has won 76 seats, the INC 50 seats, and 12 seats have gone to other parties and independent candidates... For the 2,256 municipal corporation booths, counting was conducted across 15 RO centres, 15 strong rooms and 15 counting rooms. The process was carried out transparently, with more than 5,000 counting agents present... In some wards, EVMs faced technical issues and results could not be retrieved. These cases have been referred to the State Election Commission, and further action will be taken according to their directions. Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: The Congress on Monday registered a decisive victory in the Jhalawar Municipal Council, winning 18 of its 25 wards in a region considered a political stronghold of former Rajasthan chief minister and senior BJP leader Vasundhara Raje.

The BJP, however, secured a majority in Jhalrapatan municipality, winning 11 of its 20 wards.

BJP national vice president Vasundhara Raje is the sitting BJP MLA from Jhalrapatan assembly constituency of Jhalawar district.

The district has a total of eight urban local bodies.

The Congress won 18 wards in Jhalawar Municipal Council against the BJP's seven, giving the opposition party a comfortable majority in the 25-member civic body.

In the Jhalrapatan municipality, however, the BJP won 11 wards, crossing the majority mark in the 20-member body. The Congress won six seats and Independents three.

The results were part of elections to 309 urban local bodies across Rajasthan.

Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has so far won 63 wards, while the Indian National Congress secured victory in 44 wards as results for 120 wards of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation were declared on Monday under the Urban Local Body General Elections-2026.

According to the Jaipur District Administration, counting of votes for all 150 wards of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation is underway.

As per the available results declared so far, other parties and candidates have won 13 wards.

The final results for the remaining wards are awaited as the counting process continues.

Amid the counting, Congress leaders met the Jaipur District Collector over alleged discrepancies in the election results. Rajasthan Congress Legislative Party Chief Whip Rafeek Khan said the party had raised concerns over information being circulated on social media and demanded verification wherever discrepancies were found.

“In the election of those councillors, wrong things are being shown on social media, and the truth is that we are winning. So we have met the Collector regarding those things and have said that wherever there will be counting, their certificates will be given to them and if there is any difference in it... check it again and tell us,” Khan said.

“We will not tolerate any scam, and we will fight for our rights,” he added.

Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: BJP candidate Kailashchand must be having a tough day after finding out he got only one vote in Rajasthan's urban local body elections, the results of which were announced on Monday.

The party candidate contested from Ward 13 of Parbatsar municipality in Didwana-Kuchaman district.

According to the State Election Commission website, Congress candidate Hina Khanam won the ward with 376 votes, while Independent candidate Rashid Khan secured 195 votes.

Kailashchand told PTI that he was a voter of Ward 12, but the BJP fielded him from the neighbouring Ward 13.

"I got one vote. My vote is in Ward 12. I was fielded from Ward 13. Someone from that ward has voted for me," he said.

Parbatsar municipality has 25 wards. The Congress won 13 wards, securing a simple majority, while the BJP won 12.

Kailashchand's result stood out as counting was still underway for 309 urban local bodies across Rajasthan, where more than 10,000 councillor posts were at stake.

Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot alleged on Monday that the BJP is misusing the police to influence councillors ahead of the mayoral elections in urban local bodies across the state.

Gehlot claimed that despite "arbitrary delimitation", use of the government machinery and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma's roadshows, the BJP was now trying to "intimidate and threaten" Independent and Congress councillors in Jodhpur and Alwar to secure their support for mayoral elections.

Stating that the BJP had lost in four of the 10 municipal corporations -- Pali, Bikaner, Ajmer and Bharatpur --, Gehlot alleged that the party was now using the police to gain control of Jodhpur and Alwar.

Gehlot urged the police and district administrations to ensure that no partisan action was taken.

"Congress is taking this act very seriously. Accountability will be fixed for officials involved in such improper acts," he said in a post on X.

Vote counting for the councillor elections in Rajasthan's 309 urban local bodies is currently underway, and mayors and chairpersons will be elected subsequently.

Amid the counting, Congress leaders met the Jaipur District Collector over alleged discrepancies in the election results. So we have met the Collector regarding those things and have said that wherever there will be counting, their certificates will be given to them and if there is any difference in it... check it again and tell us,” Khan said.

Rajasthan civic poll results LIVE: Congress takes Sikar, Jhalawar; AAP wins big in Baran

Sikar: Congress won a clear majority with 38 of 65 wards in state president Govind Singh Dotasra’s stronghold. BJP won 22, independents four and RLP one.

Jhalawar: Congress secured a majority in former chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s stronghold, winning 29 of 45 wards. BJP won 13, independents two and AAP one.

Barmer: BJP secured a majority in the municipal council after 15 years, winning 29 of 55 wards.

Baran: AAP sprang a surprise by winning 31 of 60 wards, securing a clear majority. Congress won 18, BJP nine, and independents two.

Churu: BJP emerged as the largest party, winning 30 of 60 wards. Congress won 24, while independents secured six.

Rajasthan municipal election results LIVE: Congress candidate Manmohan Gurjar won Ward 51 of Sanganer in the Jaipur municipal elections by around 1,700-1,800 votes.

"We won by approximately 1700-1800 votes on our party symbol... We will do a lot of development in Sanganer. This is a victory for our people... CM Bhajan Lal Sharma is from Sanganer and is like a brother to us. Though development work faced obstacles, we will speak with him to revive and redevelop Sanganer," says Congress candidate Manmohan Gurjar after winning Ward 51 of Sanganer in the Jaipur municipal elections.
